Rosana (Rosie) Lai & Thibault Eiffel's VOGUE featured Amalfi Wedding

When the great-grandson of Gustav Eiffel (yes, the very one of the Eiffel Tower in Paris) marries Hong Kong's top fashion journalist and editor, the wedding is bound to make it to the pages of the most exclusive magazines. And I, as their luxury destination wedding planner & designer, couldn't be more happy and proud of what we created!

Rosie & Thibault's luxury destination wedding on the Amalfi Coast was so good the French fashion bible - VOGUE, couldn't resist but to feature it! From the wedding vision, through the location and food to fashion (of course), the bride answered VOGUE's readers' most burning questions about the couples' magical wedding weekend in Praiano, Italy.

Here, we share some of the details from our - luxury wedding planning perspective.

So, where did we begin? The venue, of course!

THE VENUE

Rosie & Tibo knew they wanted a private place with all the comforts, sea views, upscale architecture & design, all while not being an obvious, popular choice - a true hidden gem.

After researching dozens of private luxury villas across the Mediterranean, I've finally found the one that checked all the boxes. It was tucked away just outside of the busy town of Positano, with stunning panoramic sea views (you can see Capri in the distance), delicious food prepared by the villa's own chef, direct access to the private rocky beach with comfortable loungers, pool, botanical gardens and all with a quiet, relaxed luxury vibe.

Having chosen the venue, we moved on to the most exciting part - designing Rosie & Tibo's dream destination wedding in the Mediterranean. When working with people with discerning taste the bar for the look and feel of the wedding is always very, very high.

They knew they didn't want their wedding to look out of place or too over the top just for the sake of it - they wanted the wedding decor to complement the venue, with small meaningful details spread across their wedding festivities like easter eggs.

We chose to honor Rosana & Thibault's respective backgrounds and cultures by celebrating traditions like the Chinese Tea Ceremony, and weaving in details and motives like oranges (an auspicious color and fruit), having escort cards (inspired by the Mahjong tiles) display mimic the Wishing Trees, or serving French wines, and pops of color blue on the stationery - the very same shade as hydrangeas found in the Azores where the groom's mother is from.

CHINESE WEDDING TEA CEREMONY

SYMBOLIC WEDDING CEREMONY

After the traditional Tea Ceremony, reserved for the closest family only, it was time for the main event - the symbolic wedding ceremony.

We chose the natural garden terrace, just outside the villa's private lemon orchard to set up a romantic wedding ceremony spot overlooking the beautiful blue sea.

The couple wanted the floral decor to feel lush but effortless, an effect only the most talented floral designers are able to achieve. The result? An oniric meadow look that complemented the stunning view, and framed the couple's vows exchange.

THE WEDDING DRESS

How does one get their wedding look featured on French Vogue? By perfect styling, and of course, a show-stopper wedding dress.

Rosie, being a fashion editor with a huge online following, knew there would be thousands of eyes on her, and boy, she did not disappoint!

For her main look, she chose a custom haute couture dress and a dramatic cape designed by KHYELI.

And next to her handsome groom, Thibault? Honestly, I will never get enough of these two on their wedding day - that Amalfi Coast landscape and signature lemons set the perfect scene for R&T's Vogue wedding photos.

RECEPTION DINNER

For the couple's reception, we wanted to tie in all the motifs we used throughout the events of their Amalfi wedding day.

We wanted to continue the effortlessly chic look & feel we introduced in the wedding ceremony area, all while respecting the harmony and flow of the table scapes. To bring back the elements we used in the Tea Ceremony we decided to use beautiful, fabric lanterns to light up the area. This time though, instead of mustard yellow, we opted for off-white with contrasting navy piping and tassels.

THE VOGUE WEDDING AFTERPARTY

And after the delicious reception dinner? It was time for the afterparty and dancing to late night hours.
